BOO! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

           

It was a very wet Halloween here in Utah but that didn’t stop us from having a great time. We went to Cornbellys out at Thanksgiving Pointe with the Mateers the other weekend and had a blast. Colton bought a coupon on KSL that basically got all 4 of us in for about $16 rather than $32.

The corn maze was extremely muddy but it was fun and we managed our way through it in about 45 min. This year it was in the shape of the Boy Scouts of America logo celebrating 100 years of scouting. Just check out the mud we tracked along:

  

We had a great time!

Halloween weekend we held a costume party with friends up at the cabin. We didn’t do one last year but if you recall it was 2 years ago during our Halloween Trip up to the cabin when Colton proposed. We were Peter Pan and Captain Hook that year. Colton woke up early and we took a little hike with a treasure map to where he finally proposed. It was very memorable. Now every time we go up to the cabin especially during Halloween we can’t help but remember that special weekend.

This year we invited all of our friends and we had a great time up there together. It was a little colder this year than in the past but not too bad. At least bearable enough to go outside for the traditional Donut eating contest. We even gave out awards for costumes. Colton won funniest costume with his UFC Mexican fighter atire. Lindsey Newsome took home “Most Original” costume and the Williams family ran away with “Best Overall”. We played some fun games and watched some pretty creepy movies.

  

             

The next morning the Trones came up to meet us at the cabin. We went for a hike and even got to have some fun on the zipline again. Good times. We love going up to the cabin and having a great time with everybody. Happy Halloween!

HOLA AMIGO

Nothing could hold in the amount of excitement within us waiting for this week to arrive. It was time for our annual family vacation and this year we would be heading down the Mexican Riviera on a 7 day cruise! Last year we had an amazing time spending a week at the Kaanapali Resort in Maui and we were anxious for the good times ahead of us this year.

We started off early Saturday morning with a road trip to CA to meet up with the rest of the family. We love road trips!

 

After spending the night in CA the next morning we headed to the port to set sail on our journey. We had a great time on formal night going out and enjoying the beautiful ship. Including a little dancing!

Lorenzo loved dancing with Mandy. Talmage also enjoyed his dinner very much….

                

Our first port of call was Puerto Vallarta. We arrived a little late into port but that didn’t spoil our fun out along the beach. We found a great spot on the beach in front of this private restaurant. Everybody loved the water weenie and we also went parasailing! It was so much fun. We even had time to do some shopping and grab some authentic Mexican tacos while we were there. mmmm

 

 

Our next port of call was Mazatlan. Our deep sea fishing adventure there was a bit of a let down. Luckily Colton gave them a piece of his mind in Spanish and was able to save us from paying up the nose. It wasn’t our favorite port but we managed to do some good shopping. We love a good deal. After Mazatlan our next stop was Cabo San Lucas. We absolutely loved Cabo. We arrived to a beautiful sunrise.

      

We rented some Kayaks and took off across the bay to Lover’s Beach and the Arch at Lands End. We had a great time!

     

Of course the days at sea were great. We would play on the slide, mini golf, dance, relax in the sun, and much more. We had an amazing time. And to top it all off we were the stars of the show on the final night as Carnival Legends Garth Brooks and Britney Spears!

CONFERENCE AND THE CABIN

Each year during Fall General Conference we make the trip to Mather’s Last Resort. It’s a family Cabin that the Mather siblings share and we love going up there. It’s only about an hour drive from Salt Lake which makes it nice to get away for a little while. There’s just something about being up there in the serene mountains and quaking aspens that make it so relaxing. General Conference was great and Colton really enjoyed Elder Patrick Kearon’s talk during the Priesthood Session. In between sessions we would go on hikes, play outside, feed the horses down by the river, and even have some fun on the zip line. What a fun weekend!
