THE HOLY WAR

Yes, we are what you would call a “split marriage”. When it comes down to BYU versus Utah it’s probably the one thing we just can’t seem to agree. This seems to be a common theme with a few of our friends as well where the husband is a Ute and the wife is a Cougar (not the kind you’re thinking of dirty mind). So naturally Desmond becomes the deciding factor and this year we received the perfect gift from our friend Paula at Ray Quinney & Nebeker. She handmade this awesome sweater for little Desmond.

  

We got together at the Bodell’s house with some friends to watch the big game. However, as you may know the game this year was a lot different compared to previous years when it has come down to the last second. Utah pretty much blew past the mistake prone Cougars by a score of 54-10. At least one of us was happy! Anyway, if you want to see highlights from the game go here:

VEGAS GETAWAY WITH THE 305 BOYS

Colton took a well deserved getaway to Las Vegas after a busy summer semester up at the U. He was joined by our good friend Luke and they headed down to meet up with some friends Colton had met online. We joked that Luke was there for protection just in case the strangers turned out to be serial killers. Actually the friends that Colton was going to meet were from Miami (area code 305) and they were meeting Colton in Vegas for a national flag football tournament that they were competing in.

 

He had a great time with his buddies Ossie, Danny and Luke! Colton got hooked up with another one of his deals and was given 3 nights for free at the Wynn right on the strip. In the evenings they would compete in the flag football tournament which lasted 2 days and which they ended up winning! Duh Winning! Him and Luke golfed quite a bit while they were down there and ate some amazing food! They also managed to go see the show “Jabbawockeez” which they said was quote “insane”. We’ve seen many shows down in Vegas so this one is a must see if you’re down there. In the end, they had an amazing time and he made sure to take lots of pictures to make us jealous.

     

 

Oh did we mention that Colton and Luke stopped and hiked Angels Landing and the Narrows at Zions National Park on the way home. Rub it in, jerks…..

  

LAW DAY RUN

This marks our 4th year doing the Law Day Run together. Actually it’s only the 3rd because 1 year we had to miss the run due to a friends wedding that morning. Either way the tradition continues on. We had lots of friends and family there to run the race with us as well. Mandy walked the race with her Mother and Colton stayed alongside his Dad. Mandy was super proud that she finished in under an hour being nearly 8 months pregnant. Yay you! Thanks to everyone who came out. We had a blast!

  

    

WINTER CABIN SLEDDING TRIP

There’s nothing better than sledding up at the cabin with friends. Even though we sometimes take a beating on that hill, it’s worth it every time. We headed up last weekend with a bunch of friends who were eager for a good time. It was really nice to get away too. We rented a snowmobile to facilitate the hike up to the cabin which probably wasn’t the best idea, but it helped a little bit getting everything up there. Sorry for tipping it over on you Sam.

The weekend basically consisted of good food, sledding, games, and more sledding. It was a ton of fun so we’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. If you missed it this year then make sure that you come next winter!

3 PREGNANT LADIES

It seems like they timed it just right. 2 of Mandy’s best friends are pregnant along with Mandy all at the same time. It started with Lisa and Chris announcing they were expecting in March. Then came Mandy who is due in June and right behind her was Jenny and Brett who are expecting. They are all so happy that they will all be moms at around the same time. We got together to get a few photos of them together. Yay!

             

   

CONCACAF JOURNEY

We’re huge RSL fans and so naturally when the “Pass of All Passes” came up on KSL Deals and it included RSL tickets we hopped right on it. It was a great deal. $39 for tickets to 5 RSL games, 4 Utah Grizzlies games, All of the Utah Blaze home games, 6 events at Rocky Mountain Raceway, and a Season Pass to Seven Peaks Waterpark (formerly Raging Waters in SLC). I know a steal right? We’ve been loving the great tickets to the RSL games at such a great price. Colton went with Kia to the Columbus Crew Quarterfinal CONCACAF match at home and a few weeks later we both went to the Semifinal match between our Claret and Cobalt and Saprissa from Costa Rica. It was amazing! We love the way RSL plays and we are huge fans. We don’t miss a single game and you can be sure to see us on game day with our RSL kits all decked out. Such great times! Ole Ole Ole Real Salt Lake!
