DESMOND’S NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT

So Colton’s amazing sister Ashleigh and her family flew out from CA to be here for not only the baby blessing but also for Danielle and Bryan’s wedding. While she was here we took advantage of her mad skills and Colton and his sister did a newborn photo-shoot of Desmond. Desmond was an angel and we got some really cute pics of him. This resulted in Colton’s fabulous design of Desmond’s baby announcement:

  

It was printed on a cool linen texture paper with the ornate 5 x 7 cut. The baby blessing announcement (help designed by uncle Luke) also had Desmond’s footprint on it. And yes, we stamped his foot individually on each one! It was Desmond’s personal touch. Love you Des!

SPENCER FAMILY REUNION

We had some plans over the 24th of July fall through so we took the opportunity to head up to Idaho with Colton’s dad, Lorenzo, for the Spencer Family Reunion. They all loved seeing little Desmond and we had a great time catching up with family. We had dinner together at a park and then went to a waterpark in the evening. It was a quick day trip so we were back on Saturday for the festivities here in Salt Lake. We had a great time!

       

                                 

MURRAY FUN RUN

Happy 4th of July everybody! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. It was especially fun to celebrate it with our little man, Desmond. Colton ran the 5k in the morning on practically no sleep and we had a fun time watching the parade with the family.

  

SURPRISE! WE HAVE A BABY!

So Colton was asked by his sister Danielle and Bryan to take some of their engagement photos for their wedding invitation. We jumped at the opportunity and on Sunday we went to Gardner Village to take a few and then on Monday we headed to Thanksgiving Point to take some more. We had an amazing time and we got some great shots. They sure are a beautiful couple!
   
Mandy was feeling great too and we got some fun pictures of us together before what was to be the last photos of her pregnant before going into labor.
    
We headed home from Thanksgiving Point and Mandy was craving a watermelon snow cone. The Snow Shack has been a regular stop for us throughout the summer. It wasn’t until around midnight that Mandy woke up frantically surprised that her water broke and she was going into labor. We took our time getting things ready and we even went back to bed for a couple hours (we weren’t positive that it was her water that broke). Once the contractions started getting intense and we were certain that she was in active labor we headed to the hospital very excited to meet Peanut! We checked into the hospital around 5:00 am and enjoyed the ice chips and watching the women's world cup throughout labor. Mandy got an epidural and felt very relaxed. We had family waiting anxiously waiting outside and at 12:02 p.m. our little Peanut greeted us.

 
   
It was a boy! We had chosen the name months ago but kept it a secret because we were waiting to find out the sex. His name is Desmond Lorenzo Spencer and he weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 inches long. We are overjoyed and it was one of the most spiritual experiences we have had together. We are so excited with the arrival of our little man and love him so much.
  

            
He had many visitors and we’re convinced that we have the cutest baby in the world (I know every parent thinks that about their kids). We joke that it was the watermelon snow cone that sent her into labor. Mandy wasn’t due until June 30th and our doctor told us that we could expect to have the baby after the due date so we were planning on July 4th. But our little man couldn’t wait that long. Welcome Desmond aka Peanut! We love you so much!
                                                  
 

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

We both have amazing fathers to look up to. We feel very lucky to call them “Dad”. We both simply wanted to say Happy Father’s Day to the best dad’s we could ask for. We celebrated by having the annual Father’s Day family get-together with the Mather family and by having dinner down at Lorenzo’s. We made some delicious baked Alaska for dessert. mmmm.

Peanut also wanted to remind us that there’s one more Father we forgot! Colton!

FAMILY FINALLY

Big exciting news around town! You haven’t heard the word on the street? It’s official! Dano and Bryan are engaged to be married!!!!! Words alone cannot describe the excitement the entire family is feeling right now (including G-ma) We are so happy for them. It’s about time they made it official anyway. It feels like it’s taken forever. Saturday afternoon Bryan proposed to Colton’s sister, Danielle, and asked her to marry him. She of course said yes after making sure it wasn’t another prank. Who would blame her though, right?

  

  

Sunday afternoon we gathered together at Jewelya’s house for a celebratory dinner and some fun games! Max was ecstatic that Dano and Bryan finally decided to tie the knot and he loved telling us all the details. His second favorite part had to have been the cake! He’s so cute. CONGRATULATIONS Dano, Bryan, and Max. FAMILY FINALLY! We love you so much.

Max has some serious cake cutting skills!

On another note, Colton just returned from working last weekend in CA. The highlight was of course seeing our 2 nephews Porter and Talmage on Saturday evening. Rainforest Café and some Swimming. A great end to a great weekend!
