MANDYS 1st BABY SHOWER

You know it’s coming soon when the baby showers start arriving. We can’t wait for little Peanut to arrive. Colton’s two twin sisters threw Mandy her 1st baby shower Wednesday evening and it was a huge success. They did such an amazing job! They planned it all, made all of the decorations, and prepared all of the food by themselves (Which took endless hours). They are so sweet. We had so much fun. There were some of Mandy’s good friends from RQN as well as some family members from Colton’s side. Jewelya also made Peanut an adorable quilt with matching pillows and Jeanne handmade a gorgeous car seat cover along with some stylish cloths. Colton was very excited that he received the Baby Bjorn from Kathy. The list goes on but we are so thankful for all of the many gifts and support that we received. Simply the best! Thank you Thank you Thank you!

         

   

   

VEGAS GETAWAY

The weather has been crazy lately so we decided that we needed a getaway. Plus, Mandy wanted to do one last trip just the 2 of us before the baby arrived. We were able to score 3 nights for free which also made the decision a whole lot easier. We left Friday morning where it was raining and forecasted to snow the next day, and headed for sunny Las Vegas.

Friday evening we had dinner with Misty and Jon and there little newborn Mason. They are one cute family. Saturday we spent the day relaxing by the pool and then downtown for a show and a walk along the strip. There are some crazy people down there.

    

          

Sunday we went for a hike at our favorite place, Red Rock Canyon. The weather was perfect which we couldn’t complain about and the hike was pretty fun. Mandy was proud that she did the whole 3 miles without having to pee once. Yay you!

A DREAM DEFERRED

Real Salt Lake had made an impressive run all the way to the CONCACAF Champions League Final. Something no other MLS team had done before. It had been an incredible ride following them throughout this tournament. Wednesday was the 2nd leg of the Final played here at home with the goal aggregate at 2-2. Which meant RSL would advance to the Club World Cup with a win, 0-0 draw or 1-1 draw. We had tickets for weeks and had been waiting anxiously for this day to arrive.

Chills……

It was an incredible atmosphere and feeling inside the RioT (Rio Tinto Stadium) that night. Electricity was in the air and we all knew we were on the brink of something bigger than any of us had imagined. We were very pumped for the game. Colton even made the jumbo-tron a few times with his signs!

   

         

      

Unfortunately the ending wasn’t a happy one for all of us. RSL went down a goal right before halftime and in the second half couldn’t manage to find the back of the net once. It ended a 37 game home unbeaten streak. We felt absolutely gutted. We’ve never felt anything like we did that night. From so much adrenaline pumping through our veins to utter despair. It was an amazing run though and a privilege to be part of history. RSL proudly represented not only Salt Lake City and the MLS but U.S. Soccer in general. Next time…. Gotta keep our heads up now and look forward to an MLS Cup! RSL till we die!

HAPPY EASTER

Easter time is one of our favorite times of the year. Yes, it’s getting warmer and flowers are everywhere, but more than that, it gives us an opportunity to reflect on the events that make this holiday so special. Colton went down and took some beautiful pictures of the Salt Lake Temple in the spirit of Easter. They turned out great! He does amazing work.

         

For Easter dinner, Lorenzo had us over and we had a traditional Jewish meal that they would eat during Passover. It was really fun and the food was great. We were also able to stop by and visit the rest of our family. We are so thankful for the gospel in our lives and the knowledge that we have. We had a great weekend and hope you did as well. Happy Easter!

    

MACADOO

McGavin is Colton’s older brother. He was adopted at birth by Colton’s mother Jewelya. McGavin is a very special person and Colton and his family have loved taking care of him. He is really funny. He doesn’t speak and his hearing isn’t very good but he sure let’s you know when he’s happy! Colton does a great McGavin impression. Lately it’s been difficult for the whole family to see McGavin due to some issues but Colton arranged a visit to take him for a drive up the canyon. McGavin loves riding in cars! We Love You Macadoo!

WELCOME HOME RSL

RSL has been doing great on their CONCACAF journey. Recently they went down to Monterrey, Mexico and earned a 2-2 draw which is great because away goals are the tie breaker in the event of a goal aggregate tie. Colton went out to Million Air Airport the other day and welcomed the team home to SLC. It was really cool and he even landed a spot on TV! He’s famous. haha. He loved meeting the players and getting all of their autographs. They really are awesome. Goooooo Real Salt Lake!

      

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD

Colton’s Dad, Lorenzo, had a Birthday last week. We love him so much. He is so giving and caring and we love going down to Lehi to visit him. He needs to go have his own channel on the Food Network because he is an amazing chef. He spoils us every time we head down there. We all gathered together for a little birthday dinner and presents Monday evening. Happy Birthday!

        

On the following Sunday we had the family come over and eat at our house. We also played some Wii. Too funny …..
